While there has been an increasing focus on the importance of level 4 and 5 qualifications in helping to address chronic skills shortages and improve productivity, take up of level 4 and 5 qualifications is low when viewed with other comparable countries and has been declining. This meeting then will be exploring how our partners can grow their offer, as well as taking a look at the very latest policy developments in the sector.
At our second HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of this academic year, chaired by Dr Andrew Gower, Chief Executive and Principal Morley College London, we will be hearing then from Ben Verinder, Managing Director at Chalkstream, an agency specialising in market research for the education sector. Ben will be drawing on research undertaken by Chalkstream, as well as his own experiences working in the sector, including as Communications Director at the AoC, to explore strategies to effectively market level 4 and 5 qualifications to potential learners as well as employers.
Following a round table update, we will also be hearing from Dr Arti Saraswat, Senior Policy Manager, Higher Education, Association of Colleges who will be providing an update on HE policy and regulation and from Rebecca Mameli, Head of Research and Qualification Development, Pearson on the latest HTQ news and developments.
And finally, Linking London staff will be providing an update on our work and plans going forward in this space.
The meeting will be useful for partners keen to stay up to date and share good practice related to HE in FE. During the session, colleagues will have a chance to share news from their respective institutions, raise any questions or concerns, and suggest themes for future HE in FE practitioner group meetings.
These meetings are aimed at both HE in FE staff, as well as anyone with an interest in finding out more about the latest developments in the level 4 and 5 and HTQ space.
Please note that this meeting is for Linking London Partners only.
