Over the years, regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI) has presented both opportunities and significant challenges. As AI increasingly integrates into daily life, policymakers face the complex task of balancing fundamental rights, fostering innovation, and promoting competition. With the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act taking effect in 2024, countries are debating whether to adopt a top-down approach or a more cautious, context-driven strategy.
This talk will explore how various countries regulate AI, compare these approaches to the United Kingdom’s, and provide insights into the potential trajectory of AI regulation over the next five years.
