Psychology - Psychology on Earth and Beyond

What happens to our behaviour when we leave planet Earth? Gravity isn’t just what keeps us grounded - it fundamentally shapes how our brain functions and how we act.

Join Prof Elisa Raffaella Ferre as she explores how spaceflight affects cognition and behaviour. Elisa will share fascinating insights into how altered gravity influences sensorimotor processing, decision-making, and even risk-taking. Elisa will not only uncover the psychology of spaceflight but also bring the focus back to our planet, showing how the skills you develop in psychology can open doors to exciting career opportunities - even beyond Earth!

Marketing - Marketing and Consumer Behavioural Change – Jobs, Skills and Research

‘Behavioural change’ has become central to the work and study of psychologists, medics, public policy and health professionals, particularly since the Covid 19 pandemic. One area that has been putting behavioural change into practice since its inception is marketing. What is interesting however is that while the above sectors have been pushing for good or better behaviour, marketing is often a driving force in ‘bad behaviour’, and extremely successful. It is therefore vital to understand the transformational lens that marketing and consumer research provides, particularly as the wider marketing field expands towards new industries, and its study opens opportunities for skills and employment.
