Birkbeck Climate Festival 2025: Data, Technology & Sustainability: Birkbeck's Role in Driving Inclusive Energy Solutions
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Central
Inspired by Birkbeck’s commitment to sustainability and data-driven solutions, this session will explore how energy utilities, efficiency, and net-zero strategies can be made accessible and equitable for all communities, with a particular focus on the Birkbeck campus. You’ll gain valuable skills in inclusive data literacy, understanding how data can influence behavioural change, and how visionary thinking can drive sustainability. These insights will empower you to address real-world challenges in the energy and sustainability sectors.
Holly Jones (Sustainability and Energy Manager, Birkbeck Estates) and Kostan Banos (Senior Consultant for Net Zero, LCMB) will guide you in creating actionable, data-informed solutions for Birkbeck University’s net-zero journey. Using Birkbeck as a case study, you’ll work collaboratively to design a sustainable campus of the future, focusing on the integration of data, technology, and inclusive decision-making.
This hands-on workshop will encourage participants to consider who has access to sustainability solutions and how diverse perspectives can strengthen energy transition strategies. Don’t miss this opportunity to build your skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and help shape the energy solutions of tomorrow!
