Birkbeck Climate Festival 2025: Why do we need each other? The Arts and Science of Sustainability research
When:
—
Venue:
Online
In this session, we will hear from Professor James Hammond, a geophysicist who applies his expertise to understanding the Mount Paektu volcano in collaboration with North Korean and Chinese scientists and social scientists and Dr Pam Yeow, who is based in the Business School and researches behaviour change in organisations around various sustainability issues. We will discuss how each has found that working across disciplinary divides benefits both their research and teaching. What are the benefits for both students and researchers and what have they found particularly tricky?
This session is a collaboration between the Birkbeck Research Centre for Environment and Sustainability and the Environmental Education Team.
