We are immensely happy to announce that Professor Didier Queloz will give an exciting talk about his career journey and insights into whether aliens exist as someone who won the Nobel Prize with Professor Michel Mayor in 1995 for their outstanding work of discovering a planet outside our solar system which orbits our Milky Way. The planet is called 51 Pegasi b and they were the first to start the revolution in the discovery of what are called exoplanets.
With an introductory welcome from the Vice Chancellor of Birkbeck, University of London, Professor Sally Wheeler OBE, we are very happy to welcome Professor Queloz when he will give us his exciting talk on Tuesday June 10th 2025 at 4 to 5pm online, on Microsoft Teams.
The talk has been organised by Dr. Caroline Kamau-Mitchell, leader of Birkbeck's Brainstorming Grants Group, an exclusive learning programme for academics which hosts talks by world-leading intellectual pioneers, with the tradition of opening up its summer session to the public.
Everyone is welcome, everyone can learn something, and we very much look forward to this exciting talk. Book early to secure your place, because bookings will close when all spaces are filled up.
