*What is HyFlex?
Currently being installed across our teaching estate, the HyFlex technology allows students studying remotely to actively participate in classes and engage fully with their fellow students and teaching staff who are physically on site in Bloomsbury. This transformation of classrooms will make Birkbeck’s learning environment one of the most supportive of flexible learning in the country.

Speaker Bio:

Olga Chernyavska is an online counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in helping professionals struggling with anxiety.

While earning her BSc in Psychology at Birkbeck, Olga became deeply aware of the profound impact that family and ancestral support have on personal development. This inspired her to assist individuals who may not have received sufficient guidance and support in their lives.

After graduating from Birkbeck, Olga began working in Adult Social Services as a Review Officer. She later obtained an MA in Social Work and spent many years supporting individuals with long-term physical health conditions. Her background in office environments and Health & Safety training has given her a unique understanding of work-related stress and workplace trauma.

Olga is a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor. During her training, she developed a strong interest in the connection between the mind and body, leading her to explore holistic therapy in greater depth. She completed post-qualifying training in Anthroposophic Psychotherapy, a practice that considers the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of well-being. This interdisciplinary approach promotes collaboration with other professionals, such as medical practitioners, to create personalised treatment plans.

Additionally, Olga trained as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher, mastering techniques that harmonise thoughts and emotions to enhance psychological well-being. Today, she integrates these diverse therapeutic approaches to support clients on their holistic healing journeys, specialising in anxiety, worry and trauma recovery.
