Shakespeare Teachers' Conversation: Working with Shakespeare's Language
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck 43 Gordon Square
No booking required
These meetings take place once a term at Birkbeck and they provide a space for teachers and lecturers to meet one another, discuss their methods and ideas and share practical classroom/seminar tasks. Each meeting focuses on a particular challenge involved in teaching Shakespeare and other Renaissance drama. Short presentations (one each from a Key Stage 4-5 and a university perspective) are followed by informal discussion.
Anyone interested in teaching Shakespeare at any level is very welcome (school, sixth-form and FE teachers; GTAs and lecturers; educationalists at theatres, museums and libraries; or those who would like to find out more).
This conversation explores ways in which Shakespeare's language can be used to broaden students' experiences in the classroom.
