IMPULSE: Playing with Reality brings together vivid animation, sharp-witted gameplay and dramatic first-hand accounts of people whose intense emotions lead them to a life at the edge.
Highlighting the inner life of ADHD, and the often-dismissed experience of the 'quiet girls', the experiences of four young people are presented in Mixed Reality, where you wear a VR headset, but can still see the world around you.
Following screenings at the BFI Film Festival and the 81st Venice International Film Festival 2024, the Birkbeck's brand new Immersive Learning Centre brings IMPULSE to Arts Week 2025 to offer a window onto the thrill of acting without thinking and the power of uncovering your own patterns.
Please note that small numbers enter the experience at once. There may be a short wait to pop on the headset.
