Paul Davis is Reader in the English department at UCL, and the author of Translation and the Poet's Life (Oxford University Press, 2008). His works on classicism in the long eighteenth century; the literature and culture of the Restoration; and the circulation of manuscript verse in the seventeenth century.

He has edited Rochester: Selected Poems (Oxford World's Classics, 2013), and on the Rochester manuscripts he has published 'An unrecorded collection of Restoration scribal verse, including three new Rochester manuscripts', English Manuscript Studies, 18 (May 2013).
