Join us for Big Ideas at Birkbeck's East London campus in Stratford, and come prepared for interesting discussion and fascinating research!
Birkbeck's Big Ideas is a series of thought-provoking free public lectures, designed to inspire and bring world class Birkbeck academics to the local community, with this latest installment from Dr Dionyssis G. Dimitrakopoulos of Birkbeck's Department of Politics.
Why did Britain vote to leave the European Union in 2016? In the first part of this lecture, the speaker will examine the causes of the outcome of the 2016 referendum. In the second part of this lecture Dr Dimitrakopoulos will seek to show that these causes relate directly to key decisions made by British governments, i.e. politicians who were voted in power by the British people.
The event is FREE and open to all, but please note that seating is allocated on a first come first served basis. Registration and refreshments start at 6pm and the talk will commence at 6.15pm.
