No booking required
Postgraduate students based in Bloomsbury, London who are interested in exploring some of the central concerns and major insights of gender studies are invited to join a Feminist and Queer Theory Reading Group.
As a student-run reading group, we will collaboratively agree on texts, and meet once per month (approximately) to explore them in a welcoming and friendly environment. Intended for researchers with interests in gender studies from any discipline who wish to discuss formative, radical, and/or challenging texts, primarily in the areas of feminist and queer theories. The group also offers an opportunity to meet other researchers engaging in work that explores and/or upsets notions of gender(s) and sexualities in various temporal and geographic contexts.
Run through Birkbeck Gender & Sexuality (BiGS), postgraduate students from any institution are welcome to join. A first meeting will be held at 1:30pm on 28 November 2017.
If you would like to sign up, have any questions, or would like to be kept informed of reading lists and future meetings, please email Caitlin Cunningham at ccunni02@mail.bbk.ac.uk. If you can't make the first meeting, but are interested in participating, please also get in touch. Dates and times can be flexible to suit interested parties following the first meeting.
