BPL Director Sarah Childs welcomes you to an ‘in conversation’ with The Sun’s award winning Political Editor, Tom Newton Dunn.

Previously a defence and foreign reporter, Tom Newton Dunn has been Political Editor of The Sun for a decade. He is an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh (English Literature). An award-winning journalist, who has also worked for The Mirror and Daily Telegraph, you might know him from his television appearances on Sky news and the BBC radio and TV, or from his twitter feed, where Tom has some 130K followers. Across platforms The Sun reaches each day just under 8 million readers. The extent to which the print media lead or follow their readers is contested in academic studies. In the Birkbeck Centre for British Political Life’s ‘In Conversation’, Sarah Childs will discuss with Tom, inter alia what being a Political Editor entails, what he considers his role as a political actor is, his views on the current state of British Politics is, and what he thinks is mostly like and should happen in our turbulent Brexit-times politics.
