Are you thinking of studying for a PhD in History, Classics or Archaeology at Birkbeck?
If so, please come along to an online meeting at 7.30pm GMT on Monday 1 November where we’ll offer advice on:
- Whether a PhD is the right course for you
- Approaching a potential supervisor
- Devising an appropriate topic
- The application process
- Funding opportunities, including applications to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the Economic and Social Science Research Council (ESRC) and Birkbeck's Diversity100 studentships scheme, as well as deadlines
- What careers a PhD can prepare you for
There will be a talk from the chair of our Research Degrees Committee and AHRC CHASE representative, Prof Catharine Edwards, as well as our ESRC UBEL DTP representative Dr Sarah Marks.
This will then be followed by a Q&A.
