Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the beginning of Spanish Republican Exile at the end of the Spanish Civil War, this event brings together scholars and artists to discuss the presence and legacies of Spanish Republican exile intellectual communnities in Britain. Participants include Daniel Muñoz Sempere (King's, University of London), Mari Paz Balibrea (Birkbeck), Eva Nieto McAvoy (Open University), and the artists Sonia Boué, María Mencía and Lala Isla.
Organised by Mari Paz Balibrea and the Centre for Iberian and Latin American Visual Studies at Birkbeck, in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, London.
