OneWorld Festival 2018: Inauguration of the First OneWorld Festival 2018

When:
Venue: Birkbeck 43 Gordon Square

No booking required

Birkbeck One World Festival 2018 will run from Monday 24 September to Saturday 29 September, followed by an opportunity for International students to meet the Master of Birkbeck on the morning of 16 October, at the Keynes Library in the School of Arts. Through public lectures, workshops, film screenings, a potluck picnic, global art and music, walking tours and more, we will celebrate the diversity of Birkbeck’s almost 200-years of unique history, institutional vibrancy and heritage. This willnot only create the opportunity for our international students to mix and get to know each other, but also to learn from each other’s cultures. Birkbeck OneWorld Festival will end with the College Orientation event, activities at Student Central, the University of London’s Student Union building, and a string quartet performing their show, Around the World in 45 Minutes on Saturday 29 September. A special international edition of Birkbeck student newspaper The Lamp and Owl will be published to coincide with the festival, along with a supplementary international cookbook.

This will be followed by a public workshop The Skye Meteorite by our Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.

All are welcome to join us for tea and coffee!
