After Paradise: a lecture on Eden, gardens and Milton’s Paradise Lost

We invite you to join us for this filmed lecture, followed by a live discussion between Olivia Laing and Julia Bell, Reader in Creative Writing at Birkbeck, University of London.

The event will be held at Birkbeck's Clore centre on our main campus, in beautiful Bloomsbury, central London. Don't miss out, book your place now!

This lecture is part of the William Matthews memorial lectures series. In 1981, Birkbeck received a bequest from the estate of the late Professor William Matthews for an annual lecture on either the English language or medieval English literature. The lectures alternate between these subjects. Find out more about the previous annual lectures that have been hosted.
