Film screening: Infinite Potential

Venue:
Birkbeck 43 Gordon Square
David Joseph Bohm FRS (1917-1992) was a Professor of Theoretical Physics at Birkbeck from 1961 to 1987. He has been described as one of the most significant theoretical physicists of the twentieth century and he contributed innovative and unorthodox ideas to quantum theory, neuropsychology and the philosophy of mind.
Infinite Potential, directed by Paul Howard, draws a compelling portrait of the man Einstein described as his “spiritual son”. This full-length documentary film premiered online in lockdown in 2020, and Birkbeck Library is delighted to host a screening at the Birkbeck Cinema as part of its programme of events celebrating the College’s 200th anniversary. The film will be introduced by Paul Howard and the screening will be followed by a Q&A and refreshments.
Paul is a producer, director, writer and editor who has worked internationally in genres such as biography, natural history, the arts, entertainment and the sciences. As well as interviewing colleagues and friends of David Bohm’s, he used the David Bohm Papers that Birkbeck Library holds as part of its archives and special collections for the making of the film.
