This panel launches Radio Myles, a new podcast produced by Birkbeck's Toby Harris which showcases under-explored archival material and new perspectives on the Irish writer Flann O’Brien / Myles na gCopaleen / Brian O’Nolan. Toby is joined by podcast guests Joseph Brooker and Einat Adar. Toby, Joe and Einat will reprise their roles to introduce O’Brien, discuss key moments from the podcast, share some of its rarely heard clips, discuss his relationship to philosophy and reflect on what this audio format brings to our thinking about Flann O’Brien. Toby will also share his experiences on the process of creating a new podcast. 
 
Einat Adar is a lecturer in English Literature at the University of South Bohemia in Budvar. Her research interests include Samuel Beckett, Flann O'Brien, Irish modernism, and philosophy. Her work has been published in the essay collections Gallows Humour (2020) and Translating Samuel Beckett around the World (2021), as well as the journals Partial Answers and Estudios Irlandeses. She is also the co-editor, together with Galina Kiryushina and Mark Nixon, of Samuel Beckett and Technology (2021). 
 
Joseph Brooker is Professor of Modern Literature at Birkbeck, University of London. His books include Joyce’s Critics (Wisconsin University Press, 2004) and Flann O’Brien (Northcote House, 2005). He has written the Introduction to the forthcoming new Penguin edition of James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and he co-produced the jigsaw puzzle The World of James Joyce and other Irish Writers (Laurence King, 2022). 
 
Tobias W. Harris is an Associate Fellow at Birkbeck College, University of London. His research interests include James Joyce, Flann O’Brien, cultural politics and technology. He has published in Estudios Irlandeses, Modernist Cultures and is the winner of the ‘Best Essay-Length Study on a Brian O’Nolan Theme (2015–16)’ prize for an essay published in The Parish Review: Journal of Flann O’Brien Studies. He is completing a monograph about Flann O’Brien and the European avant-garde for Bloomsbury Academic's forthcoming series on Global Perspectives in Irish Literary Studies.
