Tony Wright appointed as Professorial Fellow in British Politics in the Department of Politics
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Tony Wright as Professorial Fellow in British Politics in the Department of Politics.
Dr Wright retired from Parliament in 2010, after 18 years service as an MP, and a distinguished tenure as chairman of the Public Administration Committee. Last year he chaired the Committee on Reform of the House of Commons.
Before entering Parliament Dr Wright was Reader in Politics at the University of Birmingham. He is the author or editor of some 21 books, and is co-editor of the Political Quarterly.
His main areas of expertise are the civil service, public service delivery, regulation, parliament and British political thought, and he will be leading a series of practitioner-based seminars on British politics and teaching an undergraduate course on How to do Politics.
