The annual summer showcase of Birkbeck’s varied arts enterprises is here again.
Birkbeck College Applied Linguistics Society (BCALS) attended this years WhatUni Student Choice Awards
The debut novel from Abi Darè, a recent graduate from Birkbeck’s esteemed MA Creative Writing, will be published by Sceptre following a “fierce” auction between five publishers.
‘Art at the Frontier of Film Theory’ will be at the Peltz Gallery from 22 March - 24 May 2019.
Karla Pauline Gudiño Yañez won the prize for her essay arguing for a human rights-based approach to contested local heritage policy in Mexico. The prize was set up in honour of Dr Lorraine Lim, who lectured Arts Management at Birkbeck and sadly passed away in September 2017.
Professor Michel Blanc, who died on 30th January 2019 aged 89, had a decisive and transformative impact on the understanding and teaching of language at Birkbeck and beyond.
Professor Zhu Hua has won a Global Challenges Research grant.
The Department of Applied Linguistics and Communication hosted the book launch of Thinking Home: Interdisciplinary Dialogues (Bloomsbury, 2018) edited by Sanja Bahun (Essex) and Bojana Petrić (Birkbeck).
