Carol Watts, Reader in Literature and Poetics, has had her book of poetry Occasionals reviewed in the US online journal Jacket2.

Written over 12 months, from 23 September 2006 to 14 September 2007, this sequence of poems explores the freight of a year with an ear to its future.

Occasionals has just been reviewed in Jacket2, with Charles Alexander concluding: ‘I have seldom read a poetry so exact, yet so longing, expressive of what just might be, somewhere. So abundant, yet with such awareness of our partialness. A poetry that makes of its sentences an architecture that invokes, at the same time, brokenness and clarity.’
