Yandis Ying, a former participant in Birkbeck’s Help to Grow Management programme, appeared on BBC’s Dragon’s Den on January 23 to present Dot Dot Bubble Tea, the UK’s first premium ready-to-drink bubble tea brand.

Founded by Yandis and co-founder Susie Lau, Dot Dot is revolutionising the bubble tea industry by offering low-sugar, bottled, and canned beverages that bring the traditional café experience to a convenient, on-the-go format. The brand had already received multiple accolades, including recognition at the Speciality Fine Food Fair and LUNCH! 2024.

Part of the 2023 cohort of Birkbeck’s Help to Grow Management course, Yandis took part in the programme to gain practical insights in digital marketing, strategy, and financial management for Dot Dot.

She commented: “We’ve taken bubble tea beyond the high street, creating a premium, grab-and-go experience that fits into modern consumer lifestyles. Being able to share Dot Dot’s vision on such a well-known platform was a game-changing moment for us.”

The Dragon’s Den episode aired at 8pm on January 23 and is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
