Birkbeck Alumni tell students What Employers Want

A new series of talks will give students the chance to find out exactly what employers are looking for in several key industries

An exciting new series of talks will give Birkbeck students the chance to find out exactly what employers are looking for in several key industries.

Former Birkbeck students, who have forged successful careers in the banking, law, creative industries, information technology and professional services industries, will be sharing their knowledge with current students. The talks will unpack the key attributes, behaviours and skills which are necessary for graduates to go on to success in their chosen field.

Angela Dierks, Head of My Birkbeck services, said: “These sessions offer a great opportunity for our students to hear from someone with insider knowledge about the ways that you can make sure you stand out to employers in applications, interviews and on the job. Having a degree is a great building block towards a successful career and combining that with the other assets which employers look for means you will stand the best possible chance of success.”

The What Employers Want series has been organised by the Birkbeck Alumni Team, in partnership with the East London Business Alliance.

Current students can book their places via the Centre for Learning and Professional Development (CLPD) workshop timetable webpage.
