Birkbeck graduates earn eighth highest graduate salaries in the UK
New UK Government data has revealed that Birkbeck graduates earn more than average for London universities.
One year after graduating, Birkbeck graduates earn the eighth highest graduate salaries in the UK and the fourth highest graduate salaries in London.
Graduates from Birkbeck had an average annual salary of £32,700 in 2021-22, five years after graduating, higher than the collective average earnings of graduates from London universities of £28,300.
For the subject area Sociology, Social Policy and Anthropology, Birkbeck graduates achieved the highest median salaries in the UK and London, one year after graduating. For Languages and Area Studies and Psychology subject disciplines, Birkbeck graduates achieved the highest median salaries in London, one year after graduating. Birkbeck’s Computing undergraduates earned an average annual salary of £50,189 five years after graduating.
Professor Sally Wheeler, Vice-Chancellor of Birkbeck, commented: “Our courses and learning resources are designed to allow students to work and build a career whilst they study with us. Birkbeck graduates earned high median salaries one year after graduating across a range of undergraduate subjects, which were ranked as follows:

3rd in UK for Law and Psychology

Median salaries for Birkbeck English Studies graduates ranked as 3rd in UK for the subject area three years after graduating, and Languages and Area Studies graduate earnings were 6th in UK for the subject, five years after graduating.
The data also showed positive advancements in graduate earnings across UK universities, with graduates from nearly three-quarters of all universities experiencing median earnings that escalated by a minimum of 13 per cent in 2021-22 compared to figures from 2015-16.
