On Saturday 31 March, Birkbeck will be hosting an all-day event called Educate. Connect. Empower. organised by Inspirational YOU. Inspirational YOU is a not-for-profit organisation that empowers and supports women and young people. Students are invited to network, discuss their options and learn about the courses available at their local universities.
The event will include over 30 influential professionals and leading entrepreneurs giving workshops and seminars designed to inspire and motivate attendees. Speakers come from leading corporations such as ITV, BBC, Sky, CNN, the Guardian, Ernst and Young, Deloitte and PWC. They will also be talks from successful lawyers and musicians, including Gospel Mobo award winner, Tobi aka Triple O.
Annette McCone, Birkbeck’s Head of Widening Access, who will be leading a session on ‘The benefits of higher education and tips to get a 1st Class degree’ at the event, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the Educate. Connect. Empower event. We hope that many of the attendees will be inspired by the speakers and session, and will learn a bit more about how a higher education qualification can help them achieve their goals.”
