Birkbeck set to host conference exploring business evolution and organisational history of football clubs

Birkbeck's Sport Business Centre has partnered with the British Academy of Management (BAM) is to run a conference that will explore the origins and evolution of professional football clubs from a business management and organizational history perspective.
Taking place from 22 to 23 June 2023, the event promises to be a fascinating journey into the transformation of football clubs into complex, multimillion-pound businesses over the past century. This unique conference will feature renowned academics and industry experts who will discuss the role of club owners, managers, and players in shaping the business landscape of professional football.
Through presentations and panel sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the history and cultural impact of professional football on communities around the world. The event will provide a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to share their knowledge and contribute to the ongoing discussion of the future of football clubs.

The deadline for paper submissions is April 30 2023, and registration to attend closes on 8 June 2023.
