Bright Sparks half term event will help children learn about the brain through interactive games
Birkbeck Psychology department will host interactive children's event designed by Centre for Educational Neuroscience.
Birkbeck’s Centre for Educational Neuroscience (CEN) will be running a new science activity event, called Bright Sparks, this February half term. Children aged 5-11 years will learn about the brain in a fun and engaging way, while CEN researchers will be able to collect valuable data on children’s attention, movement, creativity and spatial cognition.
The activities will be a mixture of computer-based tasks, quizzes and interactive games, and each will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete. When children are not involved in the testing, there will be fun opportunities for them to learn more about the brain. At the end of the session, children will take home a small goody-bag.
The event takes place in Birkbeck’s Psychology Department and sessions run on Monday 13 February, Thursday 16 February and Friday 17 February.
