Chef and restaurateur, Chris Galvin, has been appointed the honorary position of Visiting Professor of Practice in Birkbeck's Department of Management.
The experience and profile Chris brings to his role will support Birkbeck students in numerous ways. Having worked in the culinary industry for over 50 years in both the UK and the US, Chris has built an outstanding professional reputation as a recognised leader in the culinary field. He is a distinguished chef and owner of family–run Galvin Restaurants founded in 2005 alongside his brother, Jeff, and is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality. I am delighted Chris has taken up this honorary position."
Chris commented on his appointment: "It is an absolute honour to be appointed and I feel very privileged to be able to share my experiences and knowledge from my time working in hospitality. Having worked with Le Cordon Bleu for many years now, it feels great to be able to work on this programme and hopefully be able to inspire students and share current business trends. I have always believed work experience that is supported by education is the perfect combination. I am a true believer in lifelong education."
