Dr Filipe Cabreiro and Dr Alan Cheung awarded Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellowships
ISMB members are awarded prestigious Wellcome Trust fellowships recognising their research in biomedicine.
We're delighted to announce that Dr Filipe Cabreiro, ISMB Lecturer in Metabolism and Metabolic Diseases, and Dr Alan Cheung, member of ISMB, have been awarded Henry Dale Fellowships for their research in the field of structural and molecular biology. The Henry Dale Fellowships scheme is a partnership between the Royal Society and Wellcome Trust aimed at recognising and supporting the work of outstanding postdoctoral scientists pursuing independent research in biomedicine in the UK.
Dr Filipe Cabreiro’s research is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases and ageing. His work looks at host-microbiota interaction and whether microbial communities can be effectively targeted by drugs to improve human health.
