ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
The UCL, Bloomsbury and East London DTP invites applications for three postdoctoral fellowships (PDFs) to be based within departments at the partner institutions within the Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP): University College London, Birkbeck, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the School of Oriental and African Studies, and the University of East London.
Fellowships are aimed at those in the immediately postdoctoral stage of their career, to provide the opportunity to consolidate their PhD through developing publications, their networks, and their research and professional skills.
The PDF call forms part of ESRC’s strategy to supporting early career researchers and will be delivered through the national network of DTPs and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs).
The call is open to applicants who have completed their PhD at a research organisation that is part of a DTP or CDT and who are within 12 months of having completed their PhD. At the submission deadline, the applicant must either have been awarded a PhD or have submitted their thesis and passed their viva voce with minor corrections, with the expectation that the PhD will be awarded by the fellowship start date.
Call specification, FAQs, and a form showing the required content of applications are available on the UBEL website (see the link at https://ubel-dtp.ac.uk/). All applicants must submit a completed proposal including the required attachments to the DTP (via our online portal) by 16.00 on 23 March 2018. The DTP will peer review the proposals and make funding decisions on behalf of ESRC by the end of June 2018.
The full list of DTPs and CDTs who are eligible to receive proposals and award fellowships can be found here: http://www.esrc.ac.uk/skills-and-careers/postgraduate-careers/early-career-researchers/
