Event Report – T Level Practitioner Group Meeting

On the 26 September, Linking London held the first T Level Practitioner Group of the academic year and was well represented with FE and HE partners present.

After a warm welcome from the chair Sultan Soukani, Assistant Principal at HRUC, delegates heard first from Suzanne Hall, Head of Sector Development at Pearson presented to the group giving an update on T Level developments including Summer 2024 results, Generation 2 T level updates and BTEC reform updates.

We then had several updates, firstly from Katrina Cotton, Area Relationship and Development Lead ‑ London from the Education and Training Foundation, who presented to the group some of the key changes to the TLPD offer and full details of their online offer. Following this a college and university partner update then followed where college partners shared information on delivering and planning to deliver T Levels including challenges such as securing work placements.

After a comfort break, the group had a discussion around student retention and reducing dropout rates, exploring potential causes as well as solutions, including areas for possible collaboration.

Lastly, Andrew Jones, Linking London presented on T Level progression to HE looking at UCAS data and the key findings from the Linking London mapping of T Level HE entry requirements for 2025.

The next T Level Practitioner Group Meeting will be on the 23rd January, 2-4pm.
