Event report: Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Group meeting

The third and last Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Group meeting of the academic year was well attended, with both HE and FE partners present.

After a warm welcome from Darryll Bravenboer, Director of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University London, the meeting began with a presentation from author Elizabeth Cleaver, Independent HE Consultant, who presented to the group giving an overview of the recent report 'Degree apprenticeships in England: current practices in design, delivery and quality management' including about the research and key headlines.

This was followed by a college and university round table update from partners on the latest news on current offer and plans going forward. Discussion included academy clubs, new apprenticeships and upcoming project.

After a short comfort break, Darryll Bravenboer presented to the group giving an overview of the report 'Move on Up? Measuring the social mobility impact of apprenticeships' including the key findings and five recommendations.

Lastly, Andrew Jones, Linking London, flagged Linking London's final draft of mapping of the London Apprenticeship offer in FE and HE.

The next HADA meeting will take place in the Autumn term, date and time TBC.
