Event report - IAG Practitioner Group Meeting
The second IAG Practitioner Group meeting of this academic year took place on the 16th January online and was well attended by college and HEI partner representatives.

After a warm welcome from Andrew Jones, Director at Linking London, the meeting began with a college and university round table update from partners on the latest news and updates from each institution. Discussion included forthcoming events, outreach support and discussion around observations on UCAS Applications this year.
Following this we had a presentation from Ndidi Edozie‑Ansah, Area Manager London and Southeast, Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) who presented an overview of CEC’s work and developments, highlighting some of their key priorities and efforts to enhance career guidance through the Gatsby Benchmarks, increasing workplace experiences for students, and promoting apprenticeships and vocational pathways.
After a short comfort break, we then had a partner perspective from Freddie McCann who gave an overview of LIBF including all about their fully online undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with self-paced learning, LIBF has expanded its curriculum beyond banking and finance to include fields like AI, cybersecurity, and data science, aiming to equip students with skills aligned with evolving industry demands. FM also highlighted some of the support services they provide students, including career coaching and study assistance.
Lastly we heard from Ben Rutter, Funding Information Partners Account Manager at the Student Loans Company who spoke on the latest HE finance news, updates and key messages including changes to Tuition Fees and Maintenace Loans
The next IAG Practitioner Group meeting will take place in the Summer term, 24th April 2025, 2-4pm.
