Event report: IAG Practitioner Group Meeting

The third and last IAG Practitioner Group meeting of this academic year took place on 20 April online and was well attended by College and HEI partner representatives.

The meeting began with a presentation by Ellie Rowley, UCAS Fair Access Programme Lead, who presented to the group giving an overview of UCAS's Fair Access Programme including their fair access strategic objectives, their Next Steps insight reports and targeting training and support. Ellie also flagged their new Outreach Connection Service which will allow universities and colleges to showcase their opportunities to underrepresented groups to UK schools and colleges.

This was followed by a college and university round table update from partners on the latest news and updates from each institution. Discussion included forthcoming events and outreach support, a new BTEC project and discussion around the UCAS references.

After a short comfort break, Chris Webb, HE Careers Professional, podcaster and co-host of the #WeAreCareers Show, presented to the group looking at the past, present and future in relation to the careers landscape and IAG.

The next meeting will take place on in the Autumn term, date and time TBC.
