Event report - Linking London HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting
The second HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of the academic year chaired by Andrew Gower, Principal & Chief Executive at Morley College London, was held on the 22 February 2024.
After a warm welcome and opening remarks from Andrew Gower, the meeting began with a presentation from David Hillier, Education Consultant (specialising in HE in FE) and previously Assistant Principal - HE, Partnerships and Business Development at South Thames Colleges Group presented to the group all about Access and Participation Plans including why you should have one, APP expectations, the student groups targeted by APPs and what an APP can provide.
After a comfort break, Rebecca Mameli, Head of Research and Qualification Development at Pearson gave their regular update on Higher Technical Qualifications and the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) including HTQ approvals and approvals in the pipeline.
Following this, Dr Jakub Kowalewski, Partnership Officer at Linking London presented to the group on further findings on the distinctiveness of college HE research project using the 3 TEF submissions we received and shared the draft of the report with the group.
The date of the next HE in FE meeting will be in the Summer term, 23rd May 2024, 2-4pm.
