Event report - Linking London T Level HE Forum
On 6th December, Linking London held a T Level HE Forum to provide an opportunity for HE partners to share progress to date in terms of supporting T Level learners interested in progressing to HE, identify challenges as well as what works and explore opportunities for collaboration going forward.
Delegates then heard from colleagues from partner universities, firstly hearing from Amie Greensted, Outreach Manager from the University of Greenwich followed by Jack du Pille, Education and Liaison and Outreach Manager from Middlesex University, who outlined their approaches and lessons learnt to date, including outreach activity and industry placement support.
A roundtable then followed which gave an opportunity for partners to provide updates on their work in this space and what next.
We then went into breakout groups to explore opportunities for collaboration and how Linking London could support partners going forward. Discussion included:
-
Linking London providing a brokerage role e.g. for institutions delivering T Levels and HE providers, with awarding bodies and around industry placements
-
Further HE Admissions mapping, highlighting where there is a lack of clarity / poor or unfair practice – raising this with specific universities?
-
More support for T Level students preparing for and on placements
The event closed with thanking everyone for their contributions throughout the forum.
