After a warm welcome from Michael Hill, the meeting began with Jakub Kowalewski, Linking London's Partnership Officer, giving the group an overview of ChatGPT in education.

We then heard from two colleagues, Roland Daw, Senior Lecturer, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, from St Mary's University and Matthew Jones, Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations, from University of Greenwich, who provided a summary of their institutions' approaches to ChatGPT.

After a short comfort break, the group went into breakout groups and using Jamboard discussed how educational institutions can respond effectively to the opportunities and challenges offered by ChatGPT. View the full discussion notes in our Partner Area.

Following this, partners were able to discuss possible topics for future meetings and what issues would be beneficial for institutions to discuss further on. Topics suggested were around evaluation and assessment design.

The next Student Retention and Success meeting will be in the Summer term, Thursday 15 June 2023, 2-4pm.
