Fundación de la Lengua Española, based in Valladolid, Spain, has once more made available to Birkbeck 10 grants for one to two week intensive courses in Spanish (any level). The courses, accredited by Instituto Cervantes, will take place at the Fundación in Valladolid for the remaining of 2014.

The courses are offered continuously, so, if you are interested, you would need to select the week/s (Mon-Friday) that is/are convenient for you and send an e-mail to Dr Mari Paz Balibrea (m.balibrea@bbk.ac.uk) by Monday, 27 of October, 2014.

Preference will be given to candidates studying Spanish as part of degrees offered by the department of Cultures and Languages.  If there are more applications than places, places will be allocated by a random draw.  We will announce the allocation of places by Tuesday, 28th of October, 2014. Finally, for those disappointed that these scholarships are not valid beyond 2014, Fundación Lengua will make more scholarships available for us in the new year.

Please note that the grant covers tuition fees only (€510 for two weeks) and that you need to pay a registration fee of €85 when you sign up for the course.  Travel expenses and room and board are also your responsibility.

You can see more details and the conditions of the grant by going to the Fundación’s page,
