How do you prepare non-traditional learners for the challenges of higher education before they enrol

On 21 August the Guardian published an article by Birkbeck’s outreach officer, Patrice Buddington, about the Learning Café initiative which she has been working on in Stratford. Patrice explains how Birkbeck developed this innovative programme, designed to support mature learners as they overcome barriers to accessing higher education.
