The new Certificate of Higher Education in Performance and Creative
Practice
offers specialist training in a chosen performance discipline:
Opera, Acting, Dance or Music.

Opera, Acting and Dance will offer students practical training delivered by established artist practitioners. Each discipline is focused on developing technical clarity and meaningful, expressive qualities through the exploration of the body and voice in performance. Set within specialist studio environments learning will centre on:

  • Technical skills classes
  • Creative workshops
  • Rehearsals
  • Sharings and Performances

Music writing students will be introduced to techniques of analysis, score-reading, orchestration, composition and form.  This will centre on the development of musical composition skills, harmony and counterpoint with reference to their historical context.

Option Modules also enable individuals to develop specific interests for a wider career vision relating to:

  • Media
  • Arts Management
  • Humanities
  • Music
  • Actor Training

Auditions for Opera/Acting/Dance run from June to July for entry in October 2011. No auditions required for Music.

Late applicants may be considered subject to places being available.
