New short film from Max Carocci

Max Carocci, Programme Director of World Arts and Artefacts, launches a new film looking at Native American war veterans.

Max Carocci, World Arts and Artefacts Programme Director and lecturer in Arts of the Americas, has launched a new short film entitled For my Land I Fight.

The film looks at the warrior legacy among Native American war veterans. It accompanies the exhibition on Native American art 'Warriors of the Plains' curated by Max Carocci for the British Museum and now on tour across Britain. The exhibition is an opportunity to see and learn about Native American arts through the collections housed at the British Museum's Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas. The film complements the book Warriors of the Plains: the Arts of Plains Indian Warfare by Max Carocci, which features cover and photographs by Simona Piantieri.

Max Carocci also has a new photography exhibition on show at the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) until 18 August. It is called Imagi/Nations and it gathers 19th and early 20th century photographs of North American Indians from the RAI, the oldest anthropological institution in the world.
