Ritual and Honour is a new publication from the British Museum by Honorary Research Fellow, Max Carocci. The book accompanies the UK tour of the exhibition Warriors of the Plains curated by Max Carocci for the British Museum in 2010.
The book provides a brief overview of Plains Indian warrior arts by highlighting the ceremonial and ritual aspects of warfare practices of Native Americans until the 21st c. The book anticipates an expanded version of this topic that is due to be published by the British Museum press in February 2012.
Max is Course Director of the Certificate of Higher Education in World Arts and Artefacts – this programme gives students the rare opportunity to study the collections at the The British Museum and Asia House. You also have the option to do individual modules (over eleven weeks) rather than taking the whole course.
