One World Festival at Birkbeck

From 24 to 29 September 2018, Birkbeck will host its first One World Festival, featuring public lectures, walking tours, food and music events to offer students and the local community the opportunity to meet, interact, and learn about other cultures. All events are free to attend.

Birkbeck's Malet street campus as Birkbeck’s first One World Festival is announced.

Birkbeck’s first One World Festival, a week-long programme of free events to celebrate our global College community, will run from Monday 24 to Friday 29 September 2018.

In the special international edition of the Students’ Union newspaper, the Lamp & Owl, Professor Latchman has written: “Birkbeck is a university like no other. We offer everyone the opportunity to fit their university study around all those other things which occupy their time, whether family lives or work.

“For those of you who have joined us in London from further afield to study here: you are in good company. Our student body is made up of individuals from over 120 different countries and we have partnerships and opportunities for our students in academic institutions all over the world; from Italy, to Hong Kong, to Brazil, to Australia. I hope you take advantage of all the opportunities on offer at Birkbeck, starting with the events at the One World Festival, and throughout your time here.”
