Professor Simon Shaw-Miller will be one of the presenters at Hearing, Seeing and Imagining: Music and the Visual Arts taking place August 28-31 at Herstmonceux Castle.
Professor Simon Shaw-Miller will be one of the presenters at the summer workshop on Hearing, Seeing and Imagining: Music and the Visual Arts taking place August 28-31 at Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex.
His talk, Trompe l’oeil, Cubism & Violins: Representing Music, will be part of a meeting that will explore ‘the imaginative, interactive worlds of music and the visual arts’. Themes to be considered will include: sound and the moving image; the neural basis of musical and visual imagery; representation of visual art in music and music in the visual arts and synaesthesia.
The event will bring together visual artists, musicians, neuroscientists, historians and psychologists in a series of discussions, performances and workshops in the beautiful setting of Herstmonceux Castle.
