Students contribute public art to the East End Trail

Two students on our Certificate of Higher Education in Understanding Visual Arts have had their work featured in public spaces in the East End as part of the East End Art Trail.

Two students on our Certificate of Higher Education in Understanding Visual Arts have had their work featured in public spaces in the East End as part of the East End Art Trail.

The East End Art Trail is an initiative of the Rosetta Art Centre, Stratford, which is our partner institution for the Certificate. The project engages with the local community to provide training, opportunities, experience for all involved.

Sally Whitehead, who is currently on the second year of the Certificate, and Martina Gregoire, who is in her first year, have both had pieces accepted as permanent exhibits.

The Cert HE Understanding Visual Arts is an innovative programme with a widening access mandate, providing a bridge into higher education for people who want to turn their a passion for art into a university qualification.  Having completed the Certificate, students can progress directly onto the second year of the BA History of Art at Birkbeck.
