Panel discussion: ‘Representations of Sexuality in Victorian Art’ at Tate Britain

Pevsner Chair Of History Of Art, Professor Lynda Nead, will be taking part in a panel discussion at Tate Britain on November 27. The topic is 'Objects of Desire: Representations of Sexuality in Victorian Art'.

Pevsner Chair Of History Of Art, Professor Lynda Nead, has taken part in a recent panel discussion at Tate Britain. The topic was ‘Objects of Desire: Representations of Sexuality in Victorian Art’ .

This event offered an opportunity to explore the themes of eroticism and desire, body, decency and decorum in the examples of works drawn from the Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde exhibition, as well as works not included in the exhibition.

Lynda was joined by Michael Hatt, Professor of History of Art at Warwick University, and the panel was chaired by Alison Smith, co-curator of the Pre-Raphaelites exhibition.

Lynda teaches on our BA History of Art and MA History of Art programmes.
