Theological Festival in Northeast Italy throughout September

The 2nd Theological Festival, organised by CRIPT and various European partners, provides an early start to next year's 500th anniversary of the reformation.

Musicians and academics from fields as diverse as Law, Theology, Philosophy and Music gather together in various Italian cities in September, for the second Theological Festival organised by Birkbeck Law School’s Centre for Research in Political Theology (CRIPT), in conjunction with partner institutions from Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

The 2015 festival "Absolutism, Sovereignty and Toleration" follows on from 2014’s successful series under the themes “Power, Honour, Charity”, and includes lectures, concerts, workshops and book discussions. Considering the approaching of the 2017 Reformation Jubilee, the event aims to present the Reformation to the great public and to investigate which role it still plays for present-day culture and society. The programme includes concerts and public conferences, which will be conducted mainly in Italian and German.

The events will take place in Bolzano (Sept. 8-11); Brixen (Sept. 12-15); Trent (Sept. 16-18); Verona (Sept. 19-22) and Trieste (Sept. 23-26)
