Orientation events at Birkbeck

A programme of Orientation events will enable new students to get the best start to life at Birkbeck.

New students will join Birkbeck next week, ready to begin their courses and start a new chapter in their lives.

To give the best start to life at Birkbeck, a range of events has been put together as part of Orientation, prior to the start of term. These will enable students to familiarise themselves with the campus, get to know fellow students and refresh academic skills to boost their confidence.

These include the BBK Welcome Orientation event and the Students' Union Fresher’s Fayre, both on Saturday 30 September where incoming students can meet their Student Union reps, find out about social events, and join some of the many clubs and societies on offer. There will also be IT and referencing workshops, ‘get to know your library’ sessions, critical thinking workshops, question and answer sessions with current students, and careers and employability talks.

The programme of talks is flexible, so anyone can drop in on as many as they like, in whichever order they choose. Campus tours will also run throughout the day, led by our student ambassadors, Team Birkbeck. Find out more on the Orientation page, or read the full programme of events.
