Biography
I am Professor of Psychology at Birkbeck University of London where I conduct research using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) and lead the IPA research group. I teach qualitative methods at all levels. Prior to coming to Birkbeck I held lectureships at Keele and Sheffield Universities.

Research overview
I lead the interpretative phenomenological analysis research group (IPARG) at Birkbeck. We are a large group of staff, researchers and PhD students who conduct research on a wide range of areas particularly on the experience of health and illness and the process of personal change. My current research activities include:
NIHR funded project on the experience of a modified CBT intervention for young people with epilepsy and mental health difficulties. Collaboration with Roz Shaffran ICH. Researcher: Isabella Nizza.
Working in India under COVID-19. Collaborations with Naved Iqbal and Ghazi Shahnawaz, New Delhi. Researchers: Ashti Emran and Drishti Kashyap.
